Post-HCG Life and Other Happenings

I haven't dosed the HCG since Friday so I'm now in Phase 3. This weekend I was a little rebellious and just wanted to eat real food!!! For the most part I did good sticking to what I was supposed to do, no sugars or starches. I'm not sure if I got enough protein Friday or Saturday. Sunday I got plenty of protein(!!!) and also splurged on Kansas Dirt Cake. Monday's weight was dangerously close to going over the two pounds you're supposed to stay within from your lowest dose weight (LDW). I did better food-wise on Monday and yesterday morning was back down to within a pound of my LDW.

It's so much nicer having more options!! I haven't stuck 100% to the "no sugar" rule. But what I have had (not taking Sunday's dessert into consideration) hasn't caused any major issues. So we'll continue that trend. ;)

This week I've started with school plans for the upcoming year. Yesterday and today I worked on cleaning out our school closet. Our art box needed some serious attention and for the first time since um...I think ever (which is about 13 years)...we moved to a bigger box! Today I spent the morning cleaning out curriculum and the kids' school stuff. I still have Matthew's school bench to go through and an organizational drawer-thing. While cleaning today I came across several things that I no longer need. I didn't feel like messing with selling stuff online so I took it to the used homeschool book store. It's a consignment store so when my things sell, I'll get 50% of the selling price.

The Big Daddy and I decided yesterday to go ahead with planning a family vacation. It will be our first ever REAL family vacation. The furthest we have ever gone is about four hours away, to Branson, Missouri. We are planning a mammoth, ten day trip to the east coast!!!

I have wanted to take the kids to the ocean for years now but we haven't been able to. My in-laws have a "time share" (it's a little different that typical time shares, they actually own the property and can use resorts all over the world) and there is a resort at Myrtle Beach. :) Then Big Daddy threw out the idea that while we are on that side of the country to visit Williamsburg, VA and Washington D.C. I'm pretty excited about the idea of being able to do it all. This year we will be studying the 50 states (again) so what a most excellent way to kick off our study by #1 seeing several states on the drive there and back and #2 by visiting the area of the country that started it all!!

So, if you happen to be reading this blog and live between Oklahoma and those areas of the east coast and know if something that we shouldn't miss seeing, comment and let me know!!

I believe most of the museums in Washington DC are free! :-D I highly encourage to plan out Williamsburgh if you go. There is a LOT and somethings you want to see may not be opened everyday.

Yes, all of the Smithsonian museums (including the Zoo) are free.

Williamsburg will be having Homeschool Days during the time that we are planning on going. :) So there will be PLENTY going on!! We can also submit registration for the specific things we want to do/see. :)
