Look! It's not Tuesday!!!!

And I'm blogging.

Today's entry is brought to you by the letter M and the number 8.

I'm not really sure what to blog about today.  I just wanted to blog on a day that wasn't Tuesday.

We could discuss the fact that our Thanksgiving dinner will be at our house for the first time.  Ever.  And how I would really like to know how many people are coming.  And how I am praying that I'm not at a birth that day (or the following day).  I am excited about hosting (hostessing??) dinner for our family.  I love Christmas more than any other holiday but there is just something about Thanksgiving.  Gathering with your family (or friends...or strangers) and sharing a meal on Thanksgiving just has a magic to it that other family gatherings don't have.  Maybe because it's a day set aside specifically for being with those we love and sharing a meal.  We don't have anywhere to rush off to (unless I get called to a birth..HA!), the food is amazing, and we can truly enjoy the day. I love the noise of Thanksgiving.  The bustle in the kitchen to get things prepared.  The sound of football in the background.  And the laughter.

This print by Mary Engelbreit pretty much sums up how I feel about Thanksgiving.

We could also discuss my need to stop trying to think of things to blog about and go in to work on my curtains.  Or Matthew's blanket.  Or just something other than sitting here, staring at the screen.
