In that order....
Because I am a bit ADD about curriculum, I'm changing stuff again. One shortfall we have (and many other homeschooling families as well) is with teaching writing. A while back I stumbled upon a post by at the Pioneer Woman's Homeschooling page reviewing The Write Foundation. My oldest two have done a little writing already (essays, Writing Strands) but it needs work, some fine tuning. This curriculum seemed to be what I've been looking for. Not just black/white pages, a lecture, and then assignments. You can read all about it at the links above. It will save me time and the redundancy of sharing the same information. That's just the way I roll.
My oldest will be switching Math programs soon. Right now I'm planning on going with Saxon. That should be good to get her through all the high school math she'll need.
After Thanksgiving I did another short, rogue round of HCG. It wasn't all that noteworthy, thus no blog posts about it. I did my load days, started the drops, and ate accordingly. I didn't stay 100% to protocol....thus the "rogue" part. I knew I would make myself crazy if I did so I did healthy cheats. Stuff like a turkey burger with lettuce, tomato, and a bit of shredded cheese melted on top. All protocol but the cheese. And it worked. So don't let the HCG police tell you otherwise. ;) Here are my final (for now) stats:
Starting (May) weight: 152.8
Chest: 41.5"
Arms: 12"
Waist: 33.5"
Hips: 42.5"
Thighs: 23"
Ending (December) weight: 137.0 (ish..it's what I'm maintaining at....yes, even after Christmas!!!)
Chest: 38.5"
Arms: 11"
Waist: 31.5"
Hips: 40 3/4"
Thighs: 22"
I'm back down to a size 8 pant size. Oh, and I'm also a bra cup size smaller. Information you REALLY needed, right??
And finally, it's a new year. But you all knew that already. Have a good 2012.
