Without further delay, an update post.
School is going well. We have dropped the Apologia Botany. First, I wasn't happy at all with the lack of organization in the Natural Journal. Secondly, the text was below my 6th grader's level and she was bored. I am going to work on a human body/nutrition study that we'll start in January. Last week I read them off some ideas and that was the one they all three agreed on.
I am also revamping the way we do our geography. Again. The idea of it taking all of this school year plus half of next was just....BLAH. So each of the girls will take a state a week. They'll each research the state and then share what they learned + make the poster/page for that state. Doing it this way means we'll be done THIS year, not next.
Changes are also coming with my midwifery practice. My partner/preceptor is stepping away from midwifery for a while to devote time to her family. This means I will be working with another midwife for the time being. I have a few more births needed to finish up the NARM requirements for earning the CPM credentials. My hope is to be ready to sit for the exam in March 2013 or August 2013.
I would include some pictures of my cute kids in this post but I haven't yet learned to get the pictures off of our new camera. Which is probably a very simple task but it's not something I'm highly motivated to do right now. So instead, here is a picture that I found on my computer already of my favorite mum. This mum started out just a bit smaller than this last year. In the spring 99% of it was taken down (literally) by an underground varmint. Just a tiny little sprig remained. Throughout the horrible summer we had here that tiny little sprig turned into this HUGE plant!
