Yesterday went fairly well. Felt like we were in a good groove with school work. The younger three had a little activity to do in their Botany lesson which they all seemed to enjoy.

Everyone worked diligently on their book work and the day went well.
This morning went a little something like this. I had the older three finish a History assignment. We had to stop and take Big Daddy into his office. When we got home I gathered them at the table again to wrap up and clean up the things from the History assignment. While they did that I wrote some directions on the board for today's Science lesson; definitions and examples of FIVE new terms. Five.
My directions to the middle two girls were to read THREE pages (and they aren't full pages) in the Science book and then do the definitions/examples of the FIVE terms. I could emphasize the following chain of events MUCH better if someone had been behind me, taking a picture over my shoulder. The response from those two went something like this:
*Eye rolls*
*SIIIIIGGGHHHHH*
My reply went something like this....
"This work must be done. You are not being asked to do that much. If you were in public school you would be in school all day doing lessons. Then you would be sent home with more work, homework, to do in the evening. Some kids come home from school, do homework, eat dinner, and still have homework to finish. Do not complain and sigh when, for the last two days, you have been done with all of your school work for the day at 1:00 and have the rest of the day to play."
So far the afternoon is going much better.
