Catching up and I got to meet one of my favorite bloggers!!

SO much has happened since I posted last week! It's just been crazy.

First of all, HELLO to everyone coming by from Lynnette's blog, Dancing Again. Welcome to my little spot on the 'net. It's not terribly fancy but I try to share about my life (see how I drew in my blog's title there? ha.) and just have fun.

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to meet her live and in person!!! See....

One reason I love her blog is that I can stalk it for pictures of home. :) So when the chance came up for me to be there and have time to meet her, I emailed her and we got it set up. I was nervous and my morning didn't go like I had planned. So I'm sure I was horribly frazzled when I (finally) showed up. After a few sips of my glorious Starbucks Mocha, I was calmer and more awake.

It was such a pleasure meeting her! We talked for about two hours! TWO hours!! You know how you meet someone and it feels like talking to an old friend you haven't seen in five years but you just chat like you've never been apart? That's kind of how it was. She is so real...so genuine...so lovely. It really was a pleasure getting to meet her and visit with her.

So that's one bit of the last week to get caught up on. Here is the rest....get ready....I'm tellin' ya, it's been crazy!!!

Friday I got my hair cut. I wanted it out of my face and to be easy to style. You can see in the banner above (the picture on the far right) what the length was like in the back.

Ta-daaahhhhh......well, I guess it's not much of a "Ta-dahhhh" post since I put up the picture of Lynnette and me up above. This is what it looked like after my friend cut and styled it (which is MUCH better than I can do so far...as you can see the difference in the two pictures!):

I'm still getting used to it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's not in my face. The top is a bit heavy so I'm going back in later this week for her to look at it and either trim it a bit or help me with styling it.

Saturday evening we took the chicks outside to play. They LOVE being outside!! They also love stretching their little wings!

It didn't take long for our youngest to get bored just sitting there watching them peck at the grass. He took off to the trampoline. Daddy and one of the girls joined them. Not long after we hear "OOOWWWWWW" and crying. There had been a small collision and when M. lost his balance and fell, he landed on his arm. Upon further inspection after coming inside the swelling didn't look right when I was walking behind him. He also wasn't calming down like he usually does after getting hurt and getting some Arnica. So to the ER we went!! And yes, he has a small break (at least the ER doctor seemed to convey the message that it was a small break....they had to scan the other arm to compare the two to even see the break). And before you comment about how that's why you don't have a trampoline or anything snippy like that, realize that the way he fell could have happened while walking through the yard or the house or falling off of our dining room table bench (like he's done before when being the wiggly boy that he is).

After a long wait in the ER he was finally adorned with an arm splint and a cute little sling. :) Tomorrow we visit the doctor and find out how long he has to wear the splint and what we need to do from here.

We left Sunday morning to go to my Mom's for a fun field trip day planned on Monday. If you watch the Discovery Channel and are a fan of Storm Chasers, you'll appreciate this. :) You've probably watched along, like we have, to Sean Casey making his film, Tornado Alley. Near my hometown there is a space center/museum, The Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center. Monday the TIV was at the Cosmosphere and they were showing Mr Casey's movie, Tornado Alley.

It was quite fun!! We got to meet the driver/medic, Marcus and the meteorologist, Brandon. We also saw the movie that morning. It was really well done! I was surprised that they didn't talk much about Casey's team and the Vortex 2 team working together and there were just a small handful of clips of Casey's adventures trying to get his intercept. But it was still a great movie!

I have more to blog about (chicks...gardening...and whatever else comes to mind) soon but we have some baby chicks who haven't been outside to play since Saturday!!! :)

Love the hair! And I'll have to check out the blog of your friend. And I'm so sorry about M.'s arm, but I still love trampolines! They are the saving grace for any child with any kind of sensory issues like Cody had. I was aware of the risks, but quite frankly the benefits far outweighed them, so don't let anyone get snippy with you!
