Here we go....in no particular order....just what pops into my mind at the time.
1. House
Things are up in the air a bit. We're not sure if we'll keep our house on the market or continue to try and sell. Because of job changes with only three months left of the tax year, it's proving to be tricky to get a good pre-qualification letter. We're hoping to know tomorrow about a couple other options. But we may have to stay in this house for one more year to have a good job/salary history on this year's taxes, then put it back on the market.
We have found (another) house that we would like to put an offer on. Yesterday or today it dropped $5000. Which could be a good thing in regards to the pre-qual. But we'll see. It's a cute little house on about one acre.
If it's the right time, it will happen soon. If it's not the right time, it won't.
2. Me
I guess I never updated my blog about this but.....I've taken a step back from midwifery. I've been struggling with what I needed to be doing for a couple months now. I finally made the decision to do that and have felt so much peace it. I am still doing home births but as a midwife assistant. In addition, I am taking on doula and monitrice clients again. I imagine that sometime in the future I will pick back up and complete requirements for my CPM.
3. Kev
The NBA season is wrapping up (at least one more game on Friday...unless the Thunder starts playing some ball against the Lakers right now as I'm typing this and actually wins this game!!). This means we will loose income. Income we need for..oh..just things like groceries, gas, car payment. Ya know..just those little things. I haven't been too stressed about it. We have some money put back to dip into. Although with possibly moving it's money we could use for down payment, moving expenses, etc. But still...not stressing.
Today...out of the blue...Kev got a call to do some audio engineering work for the next 48 weeks. :) It won't be quite as much as the NBA income but enough that we won't have to dip into our little savings as much!!
4. School
I posted a while back a little about what curriculum we'll be using next year. Well, some of it has changed. After some more looking around, some planning ahead for Em, and reconsidering a few things, I am going a different route for a couple of subjects. Now it looks like this (I put the changes in bold):
Together
Bible Study
Prima Latina (We're going to re-start this. I was reading somewhere that Leigh Rowe recommends doing this, then Latina Christiana, and THEN First Form Latin)
Tapestry of Grace Year 1
Art in Story
Music of the Hemispheres
Em
CLE Math
CLE Language Arts
CLE Math
CLE Language Arts
Typing
I guess that's really all. Still deciding if I want to keep using Wordly Wise with the other two girls. In looking ahead for Em I realized I didn't want to keep using CLE for Reading and Language Arts. I want all of the kids to have exposure to classic literature. CLE does that a little bit but not to the extent that I want. We will continue to use CLE LA for the next two years (at least that what I'm thinking of doing now..lol) to get through level 700 and 800. After that we will switch to Michael Clay Thompson's Academic Writing and Within the Word along with IEW for Reading/Literature.
I am SOOOOOO excited about using TOG! So excited. I just need to buy it and start printing (the digital edition is much cheaper!), planning, and gathering books.

So there you go. That's a little update about us and the goings-on in our home. :)

I've been reading your blogs in reader instead of coming to your site. It's so cute! Love it!! Thanks for the update. Loved reading it. Will be praying with you guys. :-)
When I read on FB about you taking on a doula client, I wondered.....hmmmmm. I knew you hadn't done that in awhile. So I hope you will be at my birth. I need you! We love you and respect your decisions too. : )
