Me: "...and what did God create Adam from?"
*crickets chirping*Them (please note: "Them" here refers to the OLDER TWO): "uuuummmmmm..", "hmm..I don't remember."
9yo:
"Mama, I needed help with something in English."Me: *looking at the book...I see very detailed directions on how to make a web for the personal narrative* "Ok, did you read the directions?"
Her: "Yes."
Me: Begins guiding her through the lesson
11yo: "I need help with Math."Me: *looking at the book...she's to figure the area of a square...not a new concept and she has the directions written out in a spiral notebook* "So what are they asking you to do?"
Her: "Find the area." *blank stare*
Me: "And how do you do that?"
Her: *a much deeper blank stare*
Her: "Yes."

Our human body study started off well. This week we talked about the brain. I think next week we'll do the senses. Honestly, I don't have a plan for this study other than going through these books I got with the models to color/cut.
It seems we've been adopted by a little lost kitty. Yesterday she wandered into our garage at 4:30pm and stayed there ALL day! Obviously an inside kitty since she looked longingly into the house and stayed on the blanket right outside the garage door. I've made some signs to put up in the neighborhood. She just has to belong to someone..somewhere. Very clean, inside kitty, and LOVES to snuggle!! I imagine whoever lost her is missing her quite a bit. But if no one calls to claim her I think she'll be staying.

In addition to a living breathing addition to our family, we will soon have a lovely piece of furniture (I guess you could call it that..?) added to our home. And I am SOOOOO excited!! My Mom called the other night informing me that my cousin is giving away her piano!!!! As in free. I talked to Kev and we've worked out a plan to go and get it on Sunday!! :) Did I mention I'm excited? It's a beautiful, dark wood upright. I'll share pictures after we get it home and in place.
