It has begun.

The Great Christmas Candy Baking Extravaganza of 2009!!!!!

For those lurking who: #1 don't know me and/or #2 haven't read my blog archives, this is a yearly tradition in our house.

Starting in October the girls and I make a list of what candy we will make. We have several things we make every year but I always try to add in one or two new recipes to try. After we make the list everyone decides who will help me make each item. It's a great way to have one-on-one time with them and also eliminates arguing. ;) Then I take that list and make a grocery list. In the past I bought things ahead of time to stock up but this year we just bought it all at once. Next year I think we'll go back to the way we used to do it. We also make a list of who we will give candy to as gifts.

This year we only have 14 things on our list. Yes, "only" 14. There are some things we've made in the past that we're not doing this year.

Matthew and I started yesterday with some Peppermint Bark. Then today we made a few more things. I'm planning on spending the day tomorrow making candy and also Friday and Saturday afternoon. Usually we aren't in a rush but our Advent activity for Sunday is to deliver goodies to friends. :)
