Elizabeth ~ Hello! Email me at heather@tulsamidwifery.com and I can send you some info about our practice.
Winter hit us here last night. YAY!!! ORU closed so Kev is home for the day. :) I love having him home!! We're hoping they will close tomorrow too. He has a game to work in OKC. If ORU does close that means he gets a paid day off and will go make a nice bit in OKC! :)
We had fun today watching the birds in our backyard. I threw the end of a loaf of bread out to them. They devoured it in just a few minutes time! The kids thought it was funny seeing one of the birds carry an almost 1/2 piece of bread over the fence. It was almost heavy enough to make him fall but he made it!
So far I am really loving The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading! We're doing two lessons a day. I noticed today that on the little reading section, she's getting quicker with recognizing the words and saying them. Yay!!
Matthew's been "doing school" too recently. All I've been doing is reading Dr Seuss' "ABC" and then doing one letter a week (I may bump it to two). Basically he's just gluing stuff to paper. Today I cut out pieces to make an apple and then made a dash-line letter A. So he glued the apple down and traced the letter. Then I cut out a B from blue construction paper. He glued that and then glued buttons to it. Ok..so that was two letters. We re-did the A. Last week I had him glue Cheerios to a big letter A as kind of an experiment to see if he would be interested in sitting with me to do something (and he REALLY is!! "Mama...I do cool yike de gurls?!?!?!" For those who don't have three year olds that means, "Mama...I do school like the girls?!?!?!"). Then I decided..."Hey. The activity should have something to do with that letter. Cheerios have nothing to do with the letter A." So we'll glue Cheerios to the letter.....what? Yes, the letter C.
