Today our last two butterflies emerged and have flown away. :) I never did get that last picture I needed but that's alright. They emerge so quickly, without warning that it's hard to catch when you're busy with four kids.

I realized that I forgot to blog about a cool blessing I received on Saturday. A little history first. My last client came for her postpartum appointment and her Mother came with them (she was at the birth too). She noticed my rag quilts in the living room and asked me about them. So we got to talking about sewing machines. I told her that mine was broken and I was borrowing one from a friend (Thank You Kahri!!!). She said that she had two but wasn't using one of them, an old Kenmore. It was given to her and she told me if I needed it, I was welcome to it. I told her I would think about it and let her know.

I decided to take her up on her offer. I've been wanting my own machine again plus I figure Kahri would like her machine back. So I emailed this lady and asked if she still had it and if the offer was still there. She said it was so we made arrangements for me to pick it up.

Not only is it an "old Kenmore", it's a 1950 Kenmore machine IN a sewing table!! :) It's so pretty and in perfect condition! There was a Craigslist post about one exactly like it but now it's gone. I'll have to take some pictures later and post. It also came with the instruction manual, the "cams" that make the different stitches, the button-hole attachment and a circular stitching attachment. The table has four little drawers on the right side so I have places to put all my thread and other notions.

Hopefully soon we'll be reorganizing the extra bedroom where the computers are and I'll have a permanent spot for it. When it's not in use for sewing we can use it to do scrapbooking on (which I can't do on this table now because there is a computer sitting on it).

Our kids were also blessed with a TV/VCR on Sunday. Not something we would purchase for them but something they have wanted. I'm not too thrilled about them having a TV in their bedroom but so far, it hasn't been an issue. And it's a nice little treat for them. One of the nice things about it is, our VCR has been broken so now they have a tv that they can watch our VHS movies on.

So what's to be learned here? It was a reminder for me that God cares about all of our needs. Sometime He pops out with unexpected blessings like this to remind us that if He's in the unexpected things, He's also in the everyday things. That if He cares enough to give us the unexpected, not-so-needed-but-desired blessings, then He's going to take care of the much needed, everyday needs and obligations that we have.

A reminder that was quite timely for me as we are starting to feel, just a little bit, the crunch that would be from a good chunk of income missing from our monthly budget. I guess I just needed that little nudge to remember that He really is taking care of everything (even the insignificant things) even if I can't see it right now.
