Do you store leftovers in plastic containers? Do you reheat your food in plastic?

Have you ever thought twice about it?

Maybe you will after reading this.

I have recently started converting my kitchen plasticware to glassware after learning that most plastics are leaching chemicals into the food stored or warmed up in them. I'm still gathering information and am trying to learn as much as I can. I thought I would share some of that information here with my lovely readers.

http://www.taitphoto.com/jpanderica/blog/smartplastics.pdf - Here is a great reference and easy-to-read info. about plastics. Look on the bottom of your favorite plastics container....the number in the little triangle means something. Some numbers are safer than others. Some are not able to be recyled.

http://www.elitephysiquesinc.com/Health%20Education.htm#Plastic - More info. about the numbers. Also an interesting article about a young lady who studied how plastic wrap acts when heated.

http://trusted.md/blog/vreni_gurd/2007/03/29/plastic_water_bottles - If you buy bottled water, pay attention to the number on the bottom!

http://ezinearticles.com/?Are-Plastic-Food-and-Beverage-Containers-Safe?&id=57347 - Are Plastic Food and Beverage Containers Safe?
