What a week!!!!

As you can see there on the side under "Client Due Dates", I had two clients birth on the same day!!

Last Friday another one of my clients (the one due on 7/12) started having some early labor. We were with her most of Saturday but her labor fizzled out. She continued to have contractions through the weekend. The midwife was with her most of Monday and I arrived at 2pm. I stayed all day, left to go see the other client at the hospital, went home to visit Kev for a while, then went back over to the midwife's house to labor-sit. Around 3am Tuesday...once again...her labor stopped. They went for an ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon and found that the amniotic fluid levels were low. That brings some risks and the midwife discussed what the next course of action would be. Then early Wednesday morning she went into active labor. :) I arrived close to 7am and soon after, because the Baby's heart tones were dropping with and/or after contractions, it was decided that we would transport.

When we got to the hospital and they were getting her all situated, I slipped out to go say "Hello" to my other client. I walked in to the news that a CSection would be done that afternoon!

Back to the laboring Mama I went. It wasn't much longer and her Baby was born!!! :) She did wonderfully!

I went home for the rest of the morning and afternoon and then returned to the hospital that evening. It was such an honor to be there for her Baby's birth. Her doctor allowed me to be in the OR with them so she wouldn't be alone after her husband went with the Baby. Although he was born at 33.5 weeks, he is doing FABULOUS!!!!!

For kicks and giggles, here's a picture of me waiting for them to let her husband and me back in the OR:
