We adopted her from some family friends. They found her and two other puppies behind the building where they work. There were a few others plus the Mama but they couldn't catch all of them. We were at Easter dinner at Kev's parent's house and this couple started talking about the puppies. She mentioned that one of them looked like a chow mix. Growing up we had a chow mix, Sophie. So of course we HAD to go see this puppy and I fell in love.
She's still cute and all. Not as chow as I hoped she would turn out. But look at those cute little eyes and sweet smile. How can you resist?
Lucy is a great dog. Despite her ability to dig holes in the yard so she can hide her bone. Or her ability to dig under the fence. If you can look past those faults (well, don't look too far past or you'll trip and fall into one of the holes), she's been a great family dog.
She's a great watch dog. One of her least favorite people is the guy who comes in HER yard to read the gas meter.
She loves buttered and salted popcorn. Don't even think about giving her the plain stuff. She wants it only after you have put butter and salt on it. When we have popcorn (and we don't use the microwave crap...we use organic popcorn in the air popper) she sits...similar to the picture above...and waits. Then once you're sitting down with it, she sits in front of you and stares you down until you give her some.
That's pretty much all about Lucy. I think I've written more about her than I have any of the kids. Take one point off of my Mother of the Year award tally please.
