On Tuesday I got together with Tiffany, the midwife I've been working with and who's taken me under her wing as far as midwifery training goes. She had said that she had something to give me for my birthday which is one reason we got together. So she brings out this little box and hands it to me.
Inside was the necklace above. HER necklace. The necklace she's worn probably every time I've seen her ever since the first time I've met her. I've always admired it and thought it was beautiful!
I looked at her and said, "But this is YOUR necklace!!"
Then she told me, "Let me tell you about this necklace. It was given to me when I started my apprenticehip. And now I'm passing it on to you." And also said that when I'm practicing and have my first apprentice, to pass it on to her.
So needless to say, I am VERY touched. I can't explain it well but it really does mean a lot that she gave me that necklace.
